ARMOURY ACTION AIR PRACTICAL PISTOL CLUB

CONSTITUTION
(2020 Update)

 

NAME

The name of the club shall be “Armoury Action Air Practical Pistol Club’, hereinafter known as ‘The Club’.

 

MANAGEMENT

The Club shall be managed by the founders, herein known as ‘The Committee’, comprising of a minimum of 1 person.

The Committee may co-opt additional members if deemed necessary.

The Committee may make rules, regulations and byelaws regarding the general running and conduct of The Club as deemed necessary.  Changes will be posted on the website and may be circulated via email.

All members are expected to familiarise themselves with the rules and abide by them.

The membership subscription shall be paid in advance on joining and subsequently on    January 1st each year and will be valid until 31stDecember following.

Any member whose subscription is not fully paid up on visiting will pay the Visitors fee    for use of The Club facilities and be limited to 3 visits in any membership year.

 

AFFILIATION

The Club is currently affiliated to the UKPSA and the SRA.  The Club may remove any affiliation or join with any other Association as considered necessary by the Committee

Membership of The Club will qualify members for a UKARA number subject to the standard requirements for UKARA registration so long as UKARA continue to offer this to The Club.  This number will be withdrawn if the member leaves The Club for whatever reason or abuses this privilege.

 

PURPOSE

The purpose of The Club is to promote skills in the amateur sport of Airsoft, including Action Air Shooting and Skirmishing.  This will be conducted at various locations.  Within Action Air Disciplines covered will include, but not be restricted to, IPSC, IDPA, IPAS.  The Club may also run other forms of Action Air shooting that they wish to conduct.  Skirmishing will focus mainly of CQB, where tactical skills will be tested and form a large part of what we do.

 

ACTIVITIES

All the activities of the Club and its members shall be in compliance with the laws of England and Wales and in accordance with the rules of the appropriate governing bodies for target shooting disciplines where applicable.

 

MEMBERSHIP

Membership of The Club is not automatic.  Application for membership will need to be approved by The Committee.  Members must have an interest in all forms of Action Air shooting, and in developing or improving their skills in this sport.

11 is the minimum age for membership.  11 to 16 Year old’s must be signed in and accompanied by a parent or guardian at all times whilst at the club. 16 to 18 years old must be signed in by a parent or guardian.

Membership of The Club, when granted, does not permit the member to have any say in the running or organisation of the Club.

Membership will be open to anyone interested in Action Air shooting regardless of sex, age, disability, ethnicity, nationality, sexual orientation, religion or other beliefs.  However, all members must be approved by the Club Committee and may have to serve a probationary period.  The length of this period will be defined by The Club Committee on an individual basis.  Also, some limitation of membership according to available facilities may be required from time to time on a non-discriminatory basis.  The decision of The Club Committee regarding membership is final.

Club members will be expected to participate actively in assisting with set up, running and breakdown of equipment as required at all venues.

The Club may refuse, suspend or remove membership for what The Committee deem good cause such as conduct, or if deemed to be unsafe on a firing range or elsewhere or likely to bring The Club or the sport of target shooting into disrepute.

In the interests of safe shooting for all, Members may be required to have completed a UKPSA safety course, or local AAA equivalent, within 12 months of joining.

 

VOTING

Membership of The Club does not carry any voting rights in any respect regarding the running of the Club.

 

CONTROL

The Committee retain full control of the running of The Club in all areas

 

ACTIVITIES

The Club may provide sporting and related social activities, club sporting equipment, coaching, courses, insurance cover (via a Third Party), and other ordinary benefits of Community Amateur Sports Clubs as provided for in the Finance Act 2002.

 

SALES

The Club may also in connection with the sports purposes of The Club or otherwise:

Sell and supply food, drink and related sports clothing and equipment.

Pay for reasonable hospitality for visiting teams and guests.

Indemnify the Committee and members acting properly in the course of the running of The Club against any liability incurred in the proper running of the Club (but only to the extent of its assets)

 

WINDING UP

The Committee may vote to wind up The Club at any time for any reason.  Any fees paid to The Club are non-refundable.

The Committee will then be responsible for the orderly winding up of The Club’s affairs.

After settling all liabilities of The Club, the Committee shall dispose of the net assets.

Interpretation of all the rules must be consistent with the statutory requirements for Community Amateur Sports Clubs as first provided for by the Finance Act 2002, and The Committee have full and final say in all decisions regarding the running of The Club.
